Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa has launched Nekar Samman Yojana for handloom weavers on 6 July 2020. People can now apply by filling Karnataka Nekar Samman Yojana online registration form at sevasindhu.karnataka.gov.in. In this scheme, the state govt. will provide financial assistance of Rs. 2,000 to all weavers.

For becoming a beneficiary of the scheme, silk, cotton, woolen, and other handloom weavers can fill Nekar Samman Yojana Online Application Form. People can register themselves at the official Seva Sindhu portal which is developed as an initiative to deliver the various schemes and services of the Karnataka State Government at the doorstep of the citizens.

As per the 4th All India Handloom Census (conducted in 2019-20), there are 54,789 handloom weavers registered in the state. As of 6th July 2020, 40,634 handloom weavers have registered themselves under the Seva Sindhu portal for becoming a beneficiary of the scheme.

Nekar Samman Yojane

The Chief Minister of Karnataka B.S. Yediyurappa has launched a scheme for the weaver’s community in the state of Karnataka on 6th July 2020. The name of the scheme is ‘Nekar Samman Yojane’, which means Weaver Samman Yojana. As per the 4th All India Handloom Census (conducted in 2019-20), there are 54,789 handloom weavers registered in the state of Karnataka.

Under Nekar Samman Yojana, 40,634 handloom weavers have applied on the Seva Indus Entrance route, out of which 37,314 applications have been screened and supported so far. Out of 1.25 lakh power loom laborers in the state of Karnataka, 8,897 candidates have been provided financial assistance to the leaders, which has also benefited the handlooms.

He announced that the beneficiaries will get an annual amount of Rs. 2000 under this scheme. The government is going to transfer the benefits directly into the bank accounts of the beneficiaries. Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa on Monday launched the Nekar Samman Yojane by direct transfer of Rs 2000 financial assistance to the bank accounts of 19,444 weavers in the first phase.

Under the fourth national handloom census, Karnataka has 54,789 registered handloom weavers. The silk, cotton and woollen handloom weavers and other handloom weavers engaged in allied activities are eligible for the Nekar Samman Yojana.

The State Government has earmarked to Rs 10.96 crore for distribution under the Nekar Samman Yojane annually, the Chief Minister said.

For becoming a beneficiary of the scheme, silk, cotton, woolen and other handloom weavers in the state of Karnataka have to register themselves at the Seva Sindhu portal (an initiative to deliver the various schemes and services of the Karnataka State Government at the doorstep of the citizens).

Nekar Samman Yojana

The Chief Minister of Karnataka state, BS Yediyurappa on Monday propelled the new advantage scheme called ‘Nekara Sammana Yojana’. The yearly monetary help plan for handloom weavers was declared by the Chief Minister in May this year as a major aspect of the state’s Covid-19 financial alleviation bundle. • Launching the direct benefit transfer to the bank accounts of the weavers under the Nekar Samman Yojane from his home office of Krishna in Bengaluru, Yediyurappa said weavers left out of the national census of handloom weavers can be included later.
• As many as 40,634 handloom weavers have enrolled themselves under the SevaSindhu software in Karnataka, the Chief Minister said disclosing that applications from as many as 37,314 weavers have been scrutinized and approved so far.
• The remaining eligible beneficiaries will be covered in the coming days, the Chief Minister said and they will get direct transfer of Rs 2,000 each into their bank accounts per year.
• In addition, Yediyurappa said as many as 1.25 lakh daily wage labourers employed in the powerloom units will also be provided an one-time payment of Rs 2,000 each. Of these, 8,997 applications have already been approved and the amount has been transferred to their bank accounts so far.
• Textile Minister Shrimanth Balasaheb Patil said the Nekar Samman Yojana was a boon to the handloom weavers.
• Textiles, handlooms and MSME as well as Information and Publicity Department Principal Secretary M Maheshwar Rao, Handlooms and Textile Department Commissioner Upendra Pratap Singh and other senior officials participated in the programme.
