On the occasion of International Youth Day, the West Bengal government launched Karma Sathi Prokolpo scheme under which one lakh unemployed youth would be provided soft loans and subsidies to make them self-reliant, informed Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday.

Karma Sathi Prokolpo Benefits

1. This scheme has been started by the concerned authority of the state, through which a loan of about Rs. 2 Lacs will be provided every year.
2. So far 1 lakh beneficiaries have been selected as beneficiaries by the Karma Sathi Prokolpo Project.
3. A budget of Rs 500 crore has been kept for the successful implementation of this scheme.

Karma Sathi Scheme Eligibility Criteria

1. Legal citizens of West Bengal – As the scheme has been launched in West Bengal, only the legal residents of the state are allowed to avail the scheme benefits. Unemployed youth from other states cannot get the scheme benefits.
2. Income limit – Certain income limit has been set by the government and the candidate has to follow it when registering for the scheme. If their family income is within the given limit, they are eligible to attain the scheme perks.
3. Age limit – The candidate who wishes to enjoy the scheme benefits should be within a particular age limit that has been decided by the state government.
4. Identity details – The residents of West Bengal need to furnish identity proof details like Aadhaar card, Voter ID card and the like in support of their claim that they are the natives of the state.
