To be eligible for captain smart connect scheme, an individual

1. In Phase 1 Girl Students are eligible for this scheme.
2. Must be a resident of Punjab
3. Students belong to the age group of 18-35 years
4. Must have passed Class 10th
5. Must have a household income less than INR 6 lakhs a year.

In the first phase, over 50,000 smartphones shall be distributed to girl students of class 11^th and 12th all over Punjab. The preparations are going great. Punjab government has confirmed that the process of procurement has been completed. Punjab Government has also approved Punjab free Smartphone Scheme. They have also made sure that no Chinese apps or parts are used in the manufacturing of these devices. CM Amarinder Free Mobile Phone Scheme has been started by CM Amarinder Singh. Required Paperwork or Free Smartphone

• Residential proof – As only the permanent and legal residents of Punjab will be permitted to get the smartphones, all students are required to submit official documents, which highlight that they are legal residents of this state.
• Identification proof –Identification of the students is necessary before they state government allots a mobile in the applicant’s name. The submission of the Aadhar card copy will help the state officials to make necessary background checks.
• School certificate – As this scheme is targeted towards the students of a specific category, interested applicants need to submit their school certificate. The certificate will highlight the current class in which these students study.

Following the meeting held by the Punjab government, the Counter Committee has decided to launch the Smartphone distribution scheme for the first phase. In the first phase, only students studying in government schools, colleges and technical institutes will be given smartphones. All students must submit a self-certification form. Showing that the young beneficiary does not already have a smartphone. With the Punjab Free Smartphone Vitran Scheme, many youth of the state can contribute to the digital sector. 3. Fill the required details in the application form such as Name, Father Name, DOB, Gender, Phone Number, E-Mail Address and District.
4. After filling the details, click the Register Now Button.
5. After clicking the register button, you will receive an OTP (One Time Password) on your mobile through SMS.

8. You can also print the confirmation receipt from the next congratulations page.

According to the initial details by Punjab government, Mobile Phones to the Youth Scheme will incorporate an open transparent biding process. This would be done to select vendors who will be responsible to provide mobile devices to students. Punjab Information Technology Corporation Ltd. will float tenders for Free Smartphone Distribution Scheme. Then in the next few days, vendor will deliver first set of handsets under Mobile Phones to the Youth Scheme by December 2019. Under this scheme, it will be the responsibility of the school premises to  register their school under Punjab Free Smartphone Yojana 2021 , and the name of the eligible students in their school will be added to this scheme.
