UP govt to appoint 58,000 Banking correspondent sakhi in all villages, After announcing several steps to boost employment during the Corona pandemic and to cope with the surge of around 2 million migrant workers, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday announced to appoint 58,000 women Banking Correspondent Sakhi(BCS) , in every village to assist the people in the banking problems.

With this decision around 58,000 gram panchayat will have these Banking Correspondent Sakhi , all women who will assist the SHGs and other people in the village in their day to day banking issues.The decision was taken in the Team 11 meeting of the CM here on Thursday.Officials here said that at present there are 232 Banking Correspondent Sakhi in selected village.

These BCS will get Rs 4000 per month as honorarium for six months plus Rs 50,000 for purchasing the device. Later on after six months , these BCS will get commission for their work along with the honorarium.The scheme would be funded from the UP State Rural Ajivika Mission and it is estimated thstvRs 430 crore would be spent on this programme.

उत्तर प्रदेश बीसी सखी योजना में सीएम योगी ने 35,938 स्वयं सहायता समूहों को 218.49 करोड़ रूपये का रिवाल्विंग फंड भी दिया है। इस फंड से स्वयं सहायता समूहों में सिलाई-कढ़ाई और पत्तल मसालों का काम करने वाली महिलाओं को भी लाभ प्राप्त होगा। इस योजना में सारा लेन-देन डिजिटल माध्यम से होगा।

The new UP Banking Correspondent Sakhi Yojana 2023 will enable rural women to get work for earning and the tension of bank account holder would be reduced. Under this scheme, it has been determined by the UP government that only women will be given jobs in this scheme. About 58000 women will get employment under this scheme. The main objective of this scheme will be fulfilled by rural women who have access to banking services to their doorsteps.

Their reach is staggering: Approximately 67 million women are organized into 6 million SHGs. Operating on the principles of self-help, cohesion, and mutual interest, SHGs are voluntary groups of 10-20 women from their neighborhood, who pool their savings and gain access to credit.

As of today, these collectives have saved $1.4 billion, and leveraged another $37 billion from commercial banks. What began as a call to empower poor rural women under the aegis of the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM) has since grown into one of the world’s largest institutional platforms for the poor.

Salary and benefits to banked women

Under this scheme, women living in rural areas will be motivated to be self-reliant and will also get an income in return for their work. Whose details are given in the following steps: –

• Each woman Sakhi working under this scheme will be given an income of Rs 4000 per month for the next 6 months.
• Those women will be provided with funds to purchase digital devices. Each woman will receive an amount of Rs 50000 from the government for purchasing a digital device.
• Along with this, the government will also give a guarantee that their monthly income can reach them through digital mode.
• The government will also pay a commission on the transaction to each bank accountant for helping and assisting the government

C) Banks will provide them with commission on each and every transaction they made through digital mode to ensure certain guaranteed monthly income.

Implementation of Yogi Women Employment Scheme

CM Yogi Adityanath has allocated a revolving fund of Rs. 218.49 crore to around 35,938 Self Help Groups (SHGs) to implement UP Banking Correspondent Sakhi Yojana. This amount is released under the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) on 22 May 2020. This fund will help women working in NGOs who are producing masks, plates, spices and doing sewing / crafting work.
