Maharashtra Corona Sahayata App 2000 Rs Labour/Workers Register, Maharashtra Construction Workers Schemes 2020:- India has recorded 13,835 confirmed cases, 452 deaths, 1,767 cured cases, according to the latest update released by the Union Ministry for Health and Family Welfare on Friday evening. The Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Uddhav Thackeray on Thursday informed that not even a single person has been found infected with corona virus in the State.
Thackeray addressing the media at the State Legislature said that people need not be worried, but as a precaution large gatherings should be avoided during Holi festival. The next 15 days are crucial and the State Government was keenly observing the situation. Every foreign passenger at land and sea port is being screened for symptoms associated with corona virus, he said.

The Building & Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, each state must establish a tripartite Board. Construction & other construction workers form the largest unorganized segment. With the objective of regulating the employment and conditions of service and to provide safety, health and welfare measures for the Construction & other construction workers, the Central government enacted legislation, namely “The Building & Other Construction Workers” (Regulation of Employment and Condition of Service) Act, 1996. Further the state government under the said Act, had also passed “The Maharashtra Building & Other Construction Workers” (Regulation of Employment and Condition of Service) Rules 2007.
Under the said rule, initially “Maharashtra Building & Other Construction Workers Welfare Board” was formed with 5 government representatives.
“Maharashtra Building & Other Construction Workers Welfare Board” was restructured under notification of 2011, 2015 & in 2018 and a tripartite Board was formed.Currently the Board comprises Chairman along with 3 representative each from government, owners and labour. The board is entrusted to ensure and provide safety, health and welfare measures to Building and Other Construction Workers through various schemes.

He reiterated that the use of n95 face mask was only required for doctors and medical staff screening the suspected patients, citizens are not required use it for self protection. The stock of the such masks is adequate in the State and the FDA of Maharashtra was ensuring that there was no unnecessary hoarding.
Maharashtra government is going to provide Rs. 2,000 to each of the registered construction workers. Accordingly, all the construction labourers can now make registration with Maharashtra Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board. The announcement to provide Rs. 2,000 to construction laborers is made on 18 April 2020. Around 12 lakh construction workers who are affected by Coronavirus (COVID-19) lockdown would be benefited. Moreover, the state govt. also announces an evacuation plan for migrant sugarcane workers.
The assistance will be paid to the workers registered with mahabocw department through direct benefit transfer (DBT) mode in their bank accounts.

The government also has a pool of construction cess collected from developers when the construction workers were allowed to work at sites. Various welfare schemes have been implemented for the workers based on assistance from the Cess Fund, which is deposited with the Board. A sum of nearly ₹250 crore would be drawn from the fund for this purpose, officials said.
“The Maharashtra Vikas Aaghadi government stands firmly behind workers affected due to the lockdown. ₹2,000 per construction worker has been announced by the government. This will benefit 12 lakh construction workers in the State,” said Cabinet Minister Balasaheb Thorat.
