Karnataka Minority Development Corporation Ltd. is now inviting an online application form for Ganga Kalyana Scheme 2023. Under this scheme, all the beneficiaries will get one drilled borewell / open well with a pump set from KDMC or lift irrigation facility. The beneficiaries in the selection list must belong to the minority community and must be small/marginal farmers. Candidates can download the online application form through kmdc.karnataka.gov.in

Karnataka Farmers will get appropriate irrigation facilities through the utilization of perennial sources of water or lifting water through pipelines. The main focus of this scheme is to provide financial support to the low income farmers to make a borewell in their land. With the help of this scheme the water will be lifting from the core of earth with pipelines.

This scheme is applicable in those Areas where the water level is very low. This scheme Also benefited in case of Perennail water sources are not available. So Government and KDMC department will provide your financial support, so you can construct a borewell under the guidelines of Expert geologist. Under this scheme you will get up to 1.5 lakh rupees financial support for the construction of borwell. This money is only provided if you use this for the agricultural activities.

Key Features of the Ganga Kalyana Scheme

Under this scheme, the Government has made some provision which is given below:

• The scheme aims to provide proper irrigation facility to the small farmers who are unable to get water resource in their land through Open Wells, Borewells or other Lift Irrigation Schemes
• Farmers who are small or marginal will get water resources from the Government
• Financial Assistance: In case the perennial water sources are not available, then KDMC will provide loans for individual borewell construction on water points recommended by expert geologists. The Government will provide financial assistance to the farmers to build the borewell and open wells in the suitable land. The KDMC will offer this financial help. The construction cost of wells and irrigation system, the State Government of Karnataka has set a budget of Rs. 1.5 Lakh per beneficiary to promote agricultural activities

About Ganga Kalyana Borewell Scheme

There are two types of irrigation schemes for this

1. Lift irrigation scheme
2. Individual bore well.

Lift irrigation scheme: – In this Ganga Kalyan Yojana the water from river is used and is lifted with the help of pipes. This scheme uses the perennial source of water. This scheme use less water and manpower. The high level areas are easily irrigated by this method.

This scheme is for those farmers whose land is less than 5 acres and group of minimum 7 persons from minority group whose lands are just adjacent to each other can take the benefit of lift irrigation facility.

Individual bore well: – This method is used if there is no river. In this scheme, underground bore wells are drilled in the water points searched by the geologist. The tanks are built for the storage of water through which the water flows with the help of pipes.

The government will provide a subsidy for this scheme and for 5 years these bore wells are maintained by the corporation and then after it is handed over to the beneficiaries. This scheme will irrigate 2 to 5 acres of land so the bore wells will be drilled or there is a construction of open wells for all.

The pump set will be supplied by Karnataka Minorities Development Corporation. The total expenditure for this scheme will be 1, 50,000/- .the charges for pump and energy charges will be included in this.

Individual Borewell – Eligibility Criteria

The following are the eligibility criteria for the individual borewell or open well will be the same as the Lift Irrigation facility:

• The KDMC provides a subsidy for individual borewells construction and also will supervise the construction and maintenance of the wells. After five years, consumer cooperatives will oversee the work of such wells with pumps and other types of wells under the scheme
• Farmers who own minimum 2 acres and maximum 5 acres of land and no nearby permanent water supply will get one well from the State
• This scheme cost Rs.1,50,000 per beneficiary, which also includes the pump and energisation cost

Ganga Kalyana Yojana eligibility criteria

Under the scheme, the beneficiary should belong to the religious minority or SC/ST and other backward classes.

Applicant should belong to Karnataka state.

If the applicant is a small and marginal farmer then he is eligible for this scheme.

The annual income of the family of the beneficiary is not more than 22,000 Rupees Yearly.

How to check Ganga Kalyana Scheme selection list

1. Guys after applying for the Ganga Kalyana Yojana, the selection list will be released.
2. If you already  applied for this scheme, need to wait for the selection list.
3. The Chairman and the selection committee make a list of the beneficiaries and forward it to the head office. Head office will release selection list of beneficiary farmers/common people.
4. You can check your name in this selection list. If your name is in the selection list then you will get the benefit of this scheme.
