Here is a good opportunity for all aspiring cricketers who wish to play for the nation someday. The program was launched to find the fitting candidates mainly focusing on identifying red bowlers (medium pacer and spinner) for building a tough team for the state.
The hunt for these raw test match bowlers across the districts will start with the first camp in Coimbatore on February 11th, 2023.

TNCA formed a talented Scout Wing, which comprises eminent first-class veteran cricketers and coaches to dig out these hidden gems all across the state.
R. Ashwin said that the TNCA Scouting program is a necessity and the timing of the program could not be any better. He is willing to give his best for building a great team.

Looking at the past performances of Tamil Nadu’s Cricket team it is evident that there was a big bowling pool gap in the Fast pace category of the team.
Yet another failure in qualifying for the Ranji Trophy, As they failed to advance during the group matches. Tamil Nadu Team really needs to look in the mirror for a change. After losing 5 times in a row the when last time in the 2016-17 session they reached Semi-finals.
Hence the TNCA’s efforts were very much needed to improve the team’s performance and give some best players to the national team in the future.
R. Ashwin who was the chief guest of the launch event. During the interview. Said, “It is a noble initiative by the TNCA and called the timing of it apt.” Explaining on this R. Ashwin emphasized the challenges faced by a scout and added,
“Planning is one thing, and executing is quite another. As a bowling scout, you can assess and monitor the bowler’s action, his accuracy, the revolutions he imparts on the ball (in the case of the spinner), and the X factor he possesses.
Identifying the right talent is key and of equal importance to sustaining them over a period of time. TNCA can utilize my service in any capacity as I understand what it takes to play at a high-performance level.”
TNCA Talent Hunt Date and Timing
The scouting program will commence on February 11th in Coimbatore and include other districts and the last selection will be on 26th March in Vellore.
The reporting timing is decided to be 08:00 Am and the selection session will start at 09:00 AM on all days
Candidates are advised to reach the venue an hour before for registration and verification purpose.
The selection locations for the trials are Coimbatore, Villupuram, Cuddalore, Tiruvarur, Trichy, Kanyaumari, Madurai, Dindigul, Ramanathapuram, Namakkal, Dharmapuri, Kanchipuram and Vellore.

The player will be tested on various metrics like;

The idea is to discover the gifted individuals in the 14-24 age range and commence the periodic training session in TNCA Academy Chennai. You will have the option to choose either SPINNER or PACE BOWLER form
The following details have to be filled in:
- Name of the Player.
- Name of the district cricket association.
- Date of Birth/Age.
- Address.
- Adhaar Number.
- Whether Playing for local district Leagues (if yes then details).
- Mobile Number and Email ID of the player.
After filling up the form you will have to get the form signed by the Secretary of your District Cricket Association
The date and Venue of the Selection will be mentioned at the top of the form.
